JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations.
Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification.
At times is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR in the role of an RN circulator.
KEY
Responsibilities:
1.
Assess patients at intervals in accordance with PHC policies and procedures.
2.
Participates in preoperative assessment and planning for surgical patients specific to RNFA activities (eg, anatomical exposure, wound closure) in collaboration with perioperative team members.
3.
Develops an individualized perioperative patient plan of care.
4.
Implements the plan of care.
5.
Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures by6.
Follows selected surgical patients postoperatively specific to RNFA activities (eg, postoperative rounding, dressing changes) in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
7.
Functions (at times) as an RN circulator during operative and other invasive procedures by8.
Evaluates the patient's progress toward attaining outcomes.
9.
Functions as a scrub nurse during operative and other invasive procedures.
10.
Transfers care as applicable.
11.
Delegates tasks according to the state Nurse Practice Act and job descriptions.
12.
Documents nursing care accurately, completely, and legibly.
13.
Collaborates effectively with other disciplines as applicable.
14.
Participates in quality review and performance improvement projects.
15.
Serves as an educator, mentor, consultant, and resource to peers, colleagues, and others in relation to RNFA activities.
16.
Maintains regulatory, credentialing, and privileging requirements required for practice as an RNFA.
17.
Acts as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Ability to work in a stressful environment.
Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies and/or difficult situations.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to participate in a call rotation and work irregular hours as necessary.
Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.
Basic computer skills (eg Word).

Graduate from a school of nursing.
Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, which includes didactic and clinical components.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience.
If working in the CVOR, minimum experience is three years in perioperative cardiothoracic nursing.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current registered nurse licensure in state of Georgia.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
