About the Position
Estimator/Project Manager
Flooring & More Carpet One, located in Columbus, GA, has a well-developed presence in the commercial flooring and construction business and desires to continue its growth. The position is critical to the continuation of our current success and winning practices and will provide leadership for our continued growth by developing new tools, means and methods to better serve our clients and expand our offerings. Recently, our commercial offering package was expanded beyond flooring to include case goods (cabinets) and countertops. We try to approach every job with a fresh look, treating each as our most important job, and as such, the best fit will be for a confident estimator capable of building quality quotes AND owning them through completion as an engaged project manager. This will require a person who knows how to continue to grow and learn, and one who is willing to work with and help others along to way to create a stronger overall organization capable of taking the customer experience to a special level.
This position requires the individual to interact with customers and assist them in making product appropriate choices according to project needs. Whether the interaction occurs in our office, at the customer's business, or at a jobsite, the objective is always to provide a genuine partnering approach bringing both value and advice that will make the client's project a complete success, a project that has our client and their visitors saying Wow! Therefore, the ideal candidate must be willing to divide his or her work time between the office working on estimates and quotes, working with colleagues and installers, developing client relationships, and working/managing at the jobsite.
It is also expected that the individual be a self- starter, personally well organized, and willing to help generate new business as well as to provide outstanding customer service and follow-up.
Although not an all inclusive list, the following are some of the duties and expectations for this position:
Develop and explain quotes to clients, making sure to help them see what they should have to construct their project properly.
Learn and master the computer estimating programs.
Well versed in reading plans and specifications, understanding and performing plan take-offs, and familiar with the submittal approval process.
Possess a sound working knowledge of TCNA, NWFA, ASTM and similar industry standards of performance.
Keep up-to-date on the wide selection of flooring and case goods and related installation requirements/techniques.
Provide outstanding customer service.
Help work through completion of the job and follow-up afterwards.
Build long-term client relationships.
Network regularly and work effectively with other employees.
Help develop and execute business development and sales strategies.
Follow-up in a timely and professional manner with clients on all requests or concerns.
Answer questions from, and provide information to, clients about our products and preferred industry installation concepts.
Help customers with their choice through design and pricing (value engineering) advice.
Visiting client's workplace or jobsite to provide product and design advice.
Maintain commercial showroom and workspace by keeping samples and product presentations neat, current, and clean.

Qualifications:
The skills and abilities we're seeking include:
College graduate, preferred but quality experience trumps degree
A passion for bringing quotes and estimates to life
Must have open and flexible work availability to include some weekends and early mornings as client needs dictate
Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and be willing to learn estimating software as needed
Estimating and project management experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Professionalism, to include dependability, accountability, and punctuality
Self-motivated and internally driven to excel
Time management skills for juggling multiple (and sometimes competing) deadlines and deliverables
